I began my design journey in 2019 in my role at Second Harvest Heartland. Previously I had dabbled in InDesign and Illustrator on my own but had always wanted to develop my skills more strongly in a role at a company. Thankfully Second Harvest Heartland was the perfect place to start.
MealConnect Star Tribune Ad
I had a blast designing this ad for Second Harvest Heartland, my first ad as main designer. It was a challenge to showcase all of the required copy, so I made use of font sizes, color and placement to make the most important points stand out while minimizing overwhelm. This ad was published in the Star Tribune in May 2019 as a call to action for people to check out the then-new MealConnect app.
Volunteer Handbook Page
This is one page from the volunteer handbook used by Second Harvest Heartland's 100+ long-term volunteers each year. I led the handbook redesign project from a design perspective and heavily collaborated with the volunteer resource developer. I helped write the content for this page and designed all visual aspects and layout using brand colors and imagery to show the information in an engaging, yet straightforward, way.
Appreciation Lunch Postcard
I helped design this postcard sent to Second Harvest Heartland Leadership Circle and Table of Hope supporters. I chose the photos from our brand assets and then placed and sized the text and logos.
